NAPLeS webinar series launched

We have scheduled 49 webinars with some of the most influential and innovative learning scientists. The webinars are scheduled to take place between September 30, 2013 and May 6, 2014.

The first webinar in the NAPLeS webinar series is on September 30 with Chris Hoadley on "A short history of the Learning Sciences". The webinar will be conducted with NAPLeS students. The videorecording will soon be available on the NAPLeS web pages.

The (interim) NAPLeS website is online!

 A preliminary website is now online. As the new ISLS website is not yet in place, LMU will host the pages for the next couple of weeks.

Planning of different network activities: The NAPLeS preparation group

An international group of 15 professors, post-docs and PhD students started to work on the planning of different network activities (e.g. international course offering) and their implementation in the NAPLES network.

Members of this preparation group are Debbie Fields, Frank Fischer, Susan Goldman, Stian Håklev, Cindy Hmelo-Silver, Manu Kapur, Marcia Linn, Kristine Lund, Jim Pellegrino, Sadhana Puntambekar, Peter Reimann, Jim Slotta, Freydis Vogel, Susan Yoon, Baohui Zhang.

First meeting of directors and representatives of Learning Sciences programs

First meeting of more than 30 directors and representatives of Learning Sciences programs established the initiative for a Network of Academic Programs in the Learning Sciences (NAPLES) during ICLS in Sydney, Australia.
